Fido Finishing School offers basic Pet Training Classes and Competition Obedience Classes. All classes meet in the evenings behind Lakeview Regional Hospital, located off of Fairway Drive in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Puppy Preschool Class
The Puppy Preschool class is for dogs under 5 months of age. In addition to puppy socialization and handling, basic manners and obedience commands are also covered.
Family Pet I Class
Puppy Preschool Class
The Family Pet I class is for dogs older than 5 months who are taking and obedience class for the first time. We cover obedience commands, such as heel, stay, and come, and also work on teaching dogs self-control and manners around other dogs and people.
Family Pet II Class
Competition Obedience Classes
The Family Pet II class is for any dog that has previously taken an obedience class. It uses AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program as the outline for the class. The class continues where the Family Pet I and Puppy Preschool classes left off, working on greater reliability and consistency of command response, as well as the CGC exercises.

The Competition Obedience class is a precision-oriented class that focuses on preparing dogs and owners to compete in obedience competitions. Dogs are taught to heel with attention, retrieve, take direction, scent discrimination, and hand signals.
