Agility training is a fun and exciting way to challenge your dog both mentally and physically. Our agility classes are designed to help your dog build confidence, improve their coordination, and learn new skills. Whether you're looking for a new hobby or want to compete, we can help!
Group classes are held on Sundays at a private site near Abita Springs.
Agility Fundamentals is for owners interested in competing in agility trials and for people who are looking for a fun and constructive activity to do with their dogs. Dogs are taught how to jump correctly and perform agility equipment safely and with speed. Owners are taught training and handling skills that will enable them to successfully negotiate courses.
The Intermediate Agility class is for dogs who can perform most of the full-height obstacles. Dogs at this level are preparing to compete or are competing at the Novice, Open, or Excellent levels
In this class, owners are starting to have off-leash control of their dogs, and dogs can perform all agility obstacles safely. Sequencing and obstacle discriminations are introduced, contact performances are proofed, jump heights are slowly raised, and the owner’s handling and training skills are refined.
The Advanced Agility class is for dogs competing at the Masters level.
Course content includes Masters to International sequencing and skills, as well as enhancing obstacle performance and speed.
Private lessons give agility handlers individual attention and detailed instruction and critiques. It also is beneficial for working on specific training or handling techniques or problem areas.
